Wednesday, April 6: 8:30 am to 4:30 pm (lunch provided)
Audience: Undergraduate/graduate students and faculty
This one-day workshop will provide an introduction to climate change and modeling. Topics include: paleo-climate and recent climate change; review concepts of weather and climate modeling; model downscaling and an introduction to EdGCM climate modeling. Participants are required to bring a laptop computer with wireless capability. For more information, contact Darko Koracin at darko [dot] koracin [at] dri [dot] edu.

Thursday, April 7: 8:45-11:45 am
Audience: Students and research faculty/scientists working with hydrologic and climate data and anyone interested in the latest developments of the CUAHSI Hydrologic Information System project.
This workshop will be focused on using existing HIS servers and services with some brief discussion on the requirements for setting up a new HIS server. We will talk about how to get data into an HIS server, and how to use the HydroDesktop software (www.hydrodesktop.org) to retrieve and interact with these data. Workshop attendees should have a good deal of familiarity with using computer software. Experience with GIS and relational databases will be especially helpful. Workshop attendees should bring their own laptop computer with wireless capability, preloaded with the latest version of HydroDesktop (should be downloaded from www.hydrodesktop.org one week before the workshop). Note that the current version of HydroDesktop works only on Windows operating systems. For more information, contact Dan Ames at amesdani [at] isu [dot] edu.
