Hydrology & Climate Modeling: Impacts of Research
Weather Station

Reported August 2011:

  • Established strong collaborations between NMSU, UNM and UNR to produce climate inputs for current and future years to use in running the SRM

  • Filling “holes” in climate observation network, especially in rural, underserved communities; NM is now on a par with other western states

  • Navajo hydrology group were trained to install and maintain a climate station that follows NRCS SCAN (Soil Climate Analysis Network) standard

  • Generating model outputs that can be used by researchers and policy-makers
