In August 2010, a diversity-focused Innovation Working Group (IWG) met in Jemez Springs, NM to develop The New Mexico STEM Higher Education Diversity Network. The intended purpose of this network was to identify and begin solving problems that lead to the underrepresentation of minority racial and cultural groups in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) higher education fields in New Mexico.
